Bordi Whiteboard + Ai Habit Coach

A proactive apprach to habit tracking.

Digital habit trackers have a fatal flaw. They live inside the same device that distracts you. Apps get buried, notifications get swiped, and within weeks the streak is gone along with the habit. Research consistently shows that the vast majority of habit tracking attempts fail within the first 60 days. Not because people lack willpower, but because the tools work against the basic psychology of habit formation. Bordi is a physical whiteboard that can digitize the information on the board. The concept is simple: bring habit tracking back to the analog ritual of writing things down, but still allow users to get all the benefits of digital tracking. Layer on an AI coach that reads your board and reaches out proactively via text and you have yourself something special. The design process was driven by James Clear's four laws of behavior change. Make it obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying. Every product decision, from where to place the board to how the AI coach communicates, was pressure-tested against those principles. The goal was a product that felt low-tech to use but was quietly intelligent underneath.

From zero to hundreds of customers and a proof point that analog and AI belong together.

Bordi launched on Shopify and quickly reached hundreds of customers, with users reporting meaningful habit streaks across fitness, mindfulness, and productivity goals. Testimonials highlighted not just the product's utility but the emotional satisfaction of the physical ritual. Checking off habits by hand, seeing the board fill up, receiving a coaching nudge that felt personal rather than algorithmic. The combination of tactile simplicity and smart follow-through turned out to be the core value proposition. The most important lesson was about where digital products fail and what fills that gap. Building Bordi clarified that the future of behavior change tools isn't purely app or analog, it's hybrid. Designing around that insight changed how we thought about the onboarding flow, the tone of the AI coach's messages, and the overall experience of using Bordi.
